As Kingdom Vineyard enters a new season, we look at what God was doing in Jesus' Transfiguration, through the often used phrase "You just receive".
In KV we normally take Communion in Home Groups, but when we gather to receive it as a larger gathering it's good to remember what happened at the Last Supper, how the tradition of the Lord's Supper was first interpreted and how quickly it was corrupted. This gives us a framework for understanding what we are doing in Communion, and what our frame of mind should be.
Most Christians believe that Jesus "died to take away our sins". Many believe that sickness was also defeated at the Cross. Micah 6 is one of many scriptures where, far from being the kind of God we have to hide from, He calls His people close: to reason with Him and be reconciled, so we can walk with Him again. He still makes this same call today: ultimately in Christ Himself. So come!
Knowing and 'feeling' God's presence are different. We need to practise the presence of God.
